Kaeng Chet Khwae National Park


Kaeng Chet Khwae National Park is situated in an approximately area of 261 square kilometers, covering the areas of Kaeng Chet Khwae Forest Park, Khwae Noi National Reserved Forest (Ministerial Regulations No. 704, B.E. 2517) in Tambon Ban-yang, Tambon Khan-chong of Wat Bot district, Phitsanulok province, Suan Miang National Reserved Forest (Ministerial Regulations No. 1158, B.E. 2529) in Tambon Suan Miang of Chattrakan district, Phitsanulok province, Khao Krayang National Reserved Forest (Ministerial Regulations No. 977, B.E. 2525) in Tambon Nong Krayang, Tambon Ban Yaeng of Nakhon Thai district, Tambon Ban Klang, Tambon Kaeng Sopha of Wang Thong district, Phitsanulok province.

Geographical Features


The geographical features of the National Park consist of long mountains and virgin forests.

Varieties of Plants and Wild Animals


There are various kinds of forests within the areas of the National Park, including mixed deciduous forests, Deciduous forest, Hill evergreen forests, dry evergreen forests. Major plants, which are of great economic value, include teaks, Afzelia xylocarpa Roxb., Xylia xylocarpa (Deang), Pterocarpus macrocarpus (Pradoo), rubber trees, etc. Wild animals found in the National Park include Muntiacus Muntjak, wild boars, monkeys, langur, masked palm civets, porcupines, rabbits, birds, snakes, monitor lizards, and fish.

By Car

The site of the National Park can be accessed from many directions. You may take Highway No.1 (Pitsanulok-Uttaradit) separating to Ban Na-kham at Wat Bot (for approximately 51 km), Highway No.12 (Phitsanulok-Lomsak) separating to Ban Sap Phraiwan (for approximately 95 km). The National Park’s office, is situated approximately 450 km away from Bangkok.

 
Accommodations

This national park is still in establishing process, so there are no bungalows, tents, and a restaurant available. Please bring your own tents and food.

Beautiful Nature

5-Step Waterfall  
There is a 5-step waterfall situated approximately 500 meters away from the 9-step waterfall. The Waterfall can be used as another route for natural trail.

There is a 9-step waterfall situated in Khao-krayang Forest. The Waterfall is very beautiful in the rainy season.

Ban Nonghin Viewpoint  
You can see the view of forests and the flows of Kwae-noi River, as well as a lot of reefs in the dry season.

Kaeng Buakham  
Kaeng Buakham is another beautiful reef situated between Khao Kra-yang Forest and Suan-miang Forest.

Kaeng Chet Khwae Rapids originated from stone lines along Khwaenoi River. In the rainy season, you can hear the roar of streams hitting the rocks. In the dry season, you can see beautiful stone lines and rocks scattering the area.
